I have had for a number of years problems in bringing forward the wdv from the previous year. To avoid having to re enter the bf figures manually follow the following procedure

Open the "previous year" in the current version. Close that year, re open the client & only then respond "yes" to "do you want to create a 2009 Tax Return". The previous years data will then be brought through.
