No need to get stressed when filing your tax return. It’s all about preparation.

Here are some guidance notes on how best to prepare and what to watch out for.

Some perspective for you: HMRC report that last season 78% of all returns were filed online - approx 7m. The busiest day was January 31 with 572,455 returns filed and the busiest hour was 4pm to 5pm and 50,000 returns were submitted.

This suggests you should avoid these times and get your return in as early as possible. What should you be thinking about when getting ready to produce and file your return?
