This is usually caused with a linking issue. To resolve it, please do the following:

 Delete diropen.dat. To do so follow these steps:

- Go to My Computer ...Local Disk C

- Double click on the Pastel Directory

- Look for the file called diropen.dat and delete it

Try and open Pastel again and the issue should be resolved.
