To convert data from earlier versions:

N.B. You must register your new version prior to converting

1. Goto Start -> All programs -> Softline Pastel -> Pastelxx -> Conversion and start the conversion program. The conversion runs as an assistant
2. Click the Next button to begin the conversion process.
3. Choose the version you are converting from, and click the next button.
4. Select the folder where your current data resides, and click the Next button. The system asks you to enter a Supervisor password. Enter your supervisor password and click OK

The conversion reads the old data files, leaves them in place, and creates a new data folder with converted data files:

1. Select the drive and folder beneath which you wish to place the converted data's folder. The system displays the folder you select in the New Path field.
2. In the New Company Directory field, enter the name of the folder for the converted company. This can contain up to eight letters and numbers.
3. Once you enter this information, click the Next button to continue.
4. The Confirm Conversion Process screen displays. Click the Process button to perform the conversion, or click the Cancel button to leave the function without processing.

You may get a message asking if you would like to upgrade your forms. Click YES if you dont use custom form and click NO if you are unsure and/or use custom forms.

Once the conversion is complete, it will ask if you have any more conversions to do. Click YES to convert more data and NO to exit the conversion program.

All you need to do now is go into your new Pastel software and click File -> Open and click New Company to add in the converted data
